The deadline to get proposals is December 13 or asap.
We want to be able to funnel as many sessions to the larger program committee
as possible. Soon there will be a call for papers for our own day at the Congress.
Last June many of us met at the Berkshire Conference on Women's History in
an unusually cold and wet Storrs, Connecituct. I am happy to announce that Vicki
Ruiz, of the University of California, Irvine, will be the next President of
the
Berkshire Conference and that the Berks will move West for a historic first
in 2005 at Scripps College, the women's school in the Claremont Colleges, in
Southern California. I will be one of the co-chairs of the Program Committee
and we look forward to receiving many comparative and global panel proposals.
Look for the call for papers in a future newsletter.
I would like to thank Alexandra Epstein, a Ph.D. student in History at UCSB,
for assisting me in assembling this
Newsletter.
The deadline for the next issue will be April 30, 2003.
Hope to see you in Belfast!
In sisterhood and solidarity,
Eileen Boris
