Meeting in Florence, Italy July 2004

I would like to inform you that in 1998 a group of scholars, practitioners, independent scholars, students etc. formed an organization called the International Cultural Research Network at the University of Alberta after a particularly good conference. We did not want it to end so we created the network. We have since met in Xian,China and in Brasilia, Brasil. A member's university hosts our meetings. The one hour presentation format provides opportunity for fruitful discussion, critique and reflection.

Our next meeting is in Florence Italy from 12-17 July 2004.  The themes and sub themes are as follows:
Childhood and Youth - history, health, crime, substance abuse
Culture - theory, music, art, religion, media, politics, language
Education  - primary, secondary, tertiary
Policy - public, professional, national, global  Women -  rights, poverty, family, war

We have worldwide membership ($10.00US a year) The members can send their papers, or present their research at our meetings or for publication. The papers are published in the appropriate books,  (we do not publish conference proceedings) depending on the topic. The website can be found at http://www.telusplanet.net/public/icrn/icrn.html

Regards,
Annette Richardson, Ph.D.
