Newsletter Editor's Note:

I've regularized the timetable for the newsletter to Fall and Spring, with it coming out late in both seasons. Since the events of September 11 and the subsequent military intervention, I am even more convinced on the importance of our collaborations.
I now feel eerily prescient for asking Janet Afary, co-president of the U.S. Coordinating Council for Women in History, to provide a supplement for this issue from The Association of Middle East Women's Studies (AMEWS). Karen Offen will be back in the Spring with her bibliographies. I invite correspondents from elsewhere in the world or in other areas of women's history to propose similar kinds of supplements for distribution for Fall newsletters. Spring Deadline: March 1, 2002
