Los Dos Siglos de La Argentina, a comparative economic history about
Argentina, written by Guillermo Vitelli.
Its main questions and issues
are: the reasons of the Argentine economic fall; the effect of the technological
revolutions over the local productive capacity since the first industrial
revolution till now; the engines of the economic growth; the reasons of the
agricultural decline; the effects of the stabilization plans; the explanations
of the economic evolution of Argentina developed in the economic literature.
The book is the most comprehensive economic history of Argentina, compared with the evolution of industrialized nations-Australia, Canada, United States, New Zealand, Norway and Sweden-and Latin American countries -Brazil, Colombia and Mexico.
''Books
on economic history usually end up gathering dust on some back shelf, yet
the latest book of Guillermo Vitelli, Los Dos Siglos de la Argentina,
is an intriguing history into how Argentina got to where it is today. In its
814 pages, it goes into full detail of who were the key players in the two
centuries that the book covers, offering a wealth of statistics and comparisons;"
